Structural Excellence Starts with the Foundation
A Hunters Contracting professional lays off the house to ensure that the foundation will be square and as drawn on the plans.
Next the footer is dug twenty-four inches wide with two runs of one half-inch rebar throughout the footer. A footer is also dug and tied into the main footer for construction of piers under the house. This ensures that the foundation and piers will be built on a continuous footer that will minimize any opportunity for the house to settle after construction.
A Hunters Contracting foundation is built higher off the ground to enhance the appearance of the home, help minimize moisture and provide the necessary space for working underneath.
Framing
Structural Excellence continues with the framing, both in the selection and size of material as well as the skill of the craftsman. Hunters Contracting carpenters are known for their framing excellence and we use only the best material available. Our interior walls at Corners and T's are built with solid lumber instead of using spacer, as is done in many homes..
Our headers are built using 2 x 10 inch lumber instead of smaller lumber.
